About Dhenté

While three friends were travelling in the Dominican Republic the idea for DHETNE rum was born. Tasting the local rums gave the friends the desire to share these amazing flavours of dark spirit with the rest of the world. Blending the vibrant and lively nature of the Caribbean with the sophisticated nature of the British culture the product lines for DHENTÉ rum were brought to life.

Our Process

Sugar Cane

The process of creating a DHENTÉ rum begins with harvesting sugar cane. The fields in the Dominican Republic are incredibly fertile and our Sugar Cane is organically grown. Sugar Cane thrives in the tropical climate here and some stalks can grow up to 6 feet tall.

Extraction

Next we need to extract the Cane Juice from the Sugar Cane so our Sugar Cane is sent to the Mill. Once at the mill the sugar can is chopped, crushed and boiled to extract the Sugar Cane Juice. This is repeated numerous times so that we are left with Molasses, which we use to create DHENTÉ rum.
